AIM is an engaging chat tool that lets you interact with an AI chatbot called SmartestChild, powered by an advanced language model.

AIM, short for AI Instant Messenger, is designed to make chatting with AI both fun and straightforward. At its core is SmartestChild, which runs on the Vicuna-13B language model developed by LMSysModel, a group dedicated to creating smart and precise language tools.

This chat tool operates entirely in your browser, thanks to technology like Apache TVM and MLC Relax Runtime, along with WebGPU, which means it processes everything quickly and efficiently. One of the coolest features is that your conversations stay private and are stored locally—nothing is sent to a server. So, you can chat away without worrying about your data getting shared!

When you talk to SmartestChild, expect casual responses written in lowercase, sprinkled with emojis and a dash of 2000s internet slang. You have the freedom to start new chats, save your conversations, and even edit them as you like. Just a heads-up: some features might not work if you don’t have a compatible GPU or if you’re not using Desktop Google Chrome version 113 or later.

The best part? AIM is open-source and was crafted by the r2d4/react-llm team. It’s not just a chat tool; it’s a fun way to see how advanced language models can understand and generate human-like conversation, making your interaction with AI feel more natural and engaging.
